• Secret Bay Diving Area

In the unlikely setting of the environs of Gilimanuk's commercial port, Secret Bay is a little backwater opposite the ferry dock where you will find some of the strangest creatures in the tropic. It is normally calm, shallow and clear, and is delight for anyone interested in small marine critters. Look around to see thing rarely seen alse where including snake eels, sea snakes, rabbit fish, frog fish, dragonets, sea horse and more.

Diving Secret Bay is a shallow affair.Max depth is something like 12m at high tide, with most dives being in less than 10m of water. Not much change of getting narc-ed here. At these"depths",you will probably need to use a little more weight than usual, and you will be able to spend extra time under water if you want. Diving Secret Bay should be done at a relaxed pace. The bay is not really that big,so you can cover most of it in a few days, particularly given the long dive times possible due to shallow depths. You will be looking for small things,so its pays to take your time, methodically look under every decomposing leaf, lump of seaweed and other stuff that appears boring and unintresting. It's truly amazing the strange and unusual things you'll find. There's no need,in fact it would be very unproductiv,to fin like crazy to cover a lot of territory on a dive. You'd miss all the interesting things.

Very cold, very shallow, terrible visibility and full of trash.

This is a patient photographer's in Paradise, and one of the most remote and peaceful places in Bali to dive.

Dive at high tide to get the most from this site, avoid stirring up the mud, and please wear a good wetsuit for these chilly waters.
